Whose Line Is It Anyway? (also shortened to WLIIA? or Whose Line) is an improvisational show that mocks every game show. The points in Whose Line don't matter and are rewarded as the host pleases.
Whose Line began as a radio show hosted by Clive Anderson , and after a few episodes it evolved into the TV version we know. This first version was also hosted by Clive and was recorded in the UK. The performers were various: Josie Lawrence , John Sessions, Caroline Quentin, Sandi Toksvig, Stephen Frost, Paul Merton, Stephen Fry, Greg Proops , Mike Mcshane, Colin Mochrie , Jim Sweeney, Tony Slattery, Ryan Stiles , and several others. The tenth season was recorded in Hollywood.
Afterwards, Drew Carey , Ryan Stiles, Dan Patterson and Mark Levine produced a second version of Whose Line, which was recorded on the US. This one had the same format than the first two: one host (Drew Carey) and four contestants, but these were two fixed contestants (Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles) and two random others. These were also called third and fourth-seaters. The most common ones were Greg Proops, Wayne Brady , Brad Sherwood , Chip Esten, Jeff Davis, Denny Siegel, and Kathy Greenwood, but several other performers were guests in them, from Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams to Kathy Griffen and Karen Maruyama.
